Education & Career Development
A successful and rewarding career starts with a solid and well-rounded education. At the Club, we enhance our kids' school and home learning through knowledge, support, tutoring and encouragement.

Power Hour A comprehensive homework help and tutoring program, Power Hour is designed to raise the academic proficiency of Club members ages 6-12. Pawtucket kids earn points and rewards for time spent studying and completing homework assignments. Power Hour is sponsored nationally by The JC Penney After-School Fund.

Project Learn Project Learn reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school through "high-yield" learning activities at the Club and in the home. Based on research that shows fun but academically beneficial activities increase academic performance, these activities include leisure reading, writing activities, homework help and games like Scrabble® which develop young people's cognitive skills. Project Learn emphasizes collaborations between our Club's staff, parents and school personnel. Project Learn has been proven to boost the academic performance of Club members.

Technology Kids today are amazingly eager to improve their computer skills. Increasingly their technological aptitude is a focus at the Club. We nurture kids in our computer lab to better prepare them for the present and future technological evolution, occurring in both personal life and business achievement.

All members must complete NetSmartz, an Internet safety program that educates kids about how to enjoy the many benefits of the Internet while avoiding potential dangers.

The renovated CLUB for teens houses a technology lab with 10 desktop computers. The computers have Digital Arts Suite software installed. This innovative suite develops technology skills, creativity and critical thinking. Five programs make up the suite: Web Tech for creation and refinement of web sites; Design Tech for artistic concepts and production of professional-quality print materials and animation; Photo Tech for digital photo composition, editing, filtering and layering of images; Music Tech for music theory and application as well as digital mixing and composition of original songs; and Movie Tech for screenplay writing, how-to filming procedures, and post-production editing.
